Jewish Israeli Schadenfreude at the Death of Palestinian Children

Laura Stuart

A tragic bus crash  this morning near Ramallah in Palestine left up to nine children and a teacher dead. The bus crashed into a lorry on the Jaba road, the resulting fire on the bus injured many more children.

The death of children is always tragic and especially in such a horrible way, however, some Jewish Israelis are actually celebrating those deaths as we can read from posts on this screenshot of the Facebook page of the Walla Israeli news website.

The translation from the Hebrew reads as follows:-

Benny: Calm down, they are Palestinian children.

Tali: It seems like they are Palestinian children.. Thank God..

Tal: Thank God they are Palestinians

The Ongoing War on Iran

“Long embargoes kill more people than brief wars”

Patrick Cockburn

The way in which the growing confrontation with Iran is being sold by the US, Israel and West European leaders is deeply dishonest. The manipulation of the media and public opinion through systematic threat exaggeration is similar to the drum beat of propaganda and disinformation about Iraq’s non-existent weapons of mass destruction that preceded the invasion in 2003.

The supposed aim of imposing sanctions on Iran’s oil exports and central bank, measures officially joined by the EU, is to force Iran to abandon its nuclear program before it reaches the point where it could theoretically build a nuclear bomb. Even Israel now agrees that Iran has not yet decided to do so, but the Iranian nuclear program is still being presented as a danger to Israel and the rest of the world.

There are two other menacing parallels between the run-up to the Iraq war and what is happening now. The purported issue is the future of the Iranian nuclear program, but, for part of the coalition mustering against Iran, the real purpose is the overthrow of the Iranian government.

Homeland Security Will Use The Excuse Of A Wartime Crisis To Liquidate The Resistance To The Police State

Saman Mohammadi

“The soul is the perceiver and revealer of truth. We know truth when we see it, let skeptic and scoffer say what they choose. Foolish people ask you, when you have spoken what they do not wish to hear, ‘How do you know it is truth, and not an error of your own?’ We know truth when we see it, from opinion, as we know when we are awake that we are awake. It was a grand sentence of Emanuel Swedenborg, which would alone indicate the greatness of that man’s perception,–”It is no proof of a man’s understanding to be able to affirm whatever he pleases; but to be able to discern that what is true is true, and that what is false is false,–this is the mark and character of intelligence.” In the book I read, the good thought returns to me, as every truth will, the image of the whole soul. To the bad thought which I find in it, the same soul becomes a discerning, separating sword, and lops it away. We are wiser than we know.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson, The Oversoul.

Homeland Fascism, November 25, 2002 - ?

The threat that most unsettles the criminal U.S. ruling class is not the threat of Iran or the threat of terrorism, but the threat of a second American revolution, triggered by the political awakening of the American people. The scale of America’s political awakening and mankind’s political awakening is too demographically large and geographically widespread to manage, ignore, or suppress with traditional methods of control such as propaganda and the political manipulation of elections.

The incredible rise of Ron Paul’s popularity despite the media conspiracy against him as well as the growing influence of the global alternative media are proof that the American mass media has become an ineffective mind control tool.

Is Israel on the road to self-destruction?

Alan Hart

One very well informed and courageous Israeli who thinks the answer is ‘Yes’ is Merav Michaeli, a radio and television presenter who also writes for Ha’aretz. She is completely without fear when it comes to telling it like it is. On 2 January this year, for example, she wrote:

The Israeli government doesn’t want peace. There’s nothing new in that. It has been the proven way since the establishment of the state.”

The headline over her latest article is Israel’s never-ending Holocaust. One of her main points is that Israel has never confronted the trauma of the Nazi holocaust and has

turned it into a placard in the service of the national trauma, to reinforce the constant existential fear and the aggressiveness that comes with it.”

How Iran Could Whip the United States and Israel Without Firing a Single Shot

Mark R. Crovelli
Lew Rockwell

Iran's flag. Wikipedia.

To the outside observer, the intensifying conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran (along with some lesser bellicose nations, like Britain) may appear like a classic “prisoner’s dilemma.” The best option for both sides seems to be to pacify their domestic constituencies by escalating the conflict, which will ensure the worst possible outcome. The Israeli right-wing government is seemingly beholden to its extremist and terrorist voting blocs, while the American government is seemingly fenced in by the Israel lobby, neoconservative candidates vying for the imperial throne, the US empire and merchants of death, and the Israeli government itself. Meanwhile, the semi-totalitarian Iranian government is seemingly obliged to “stand up” to the aggressive Americans and their “Zionist client state,” lest it be seen as “soft” or “weak” by its own citizens.

As in a classic prisoner’s dilemma, both sides are ostensibly ensuring the worst possible outcome by focusing on their own domestic political agendas at the expense of the bigger picture and saner solutions.

If this conflict did indeed represent a classic prisoner’s dilemma, we would have little reason to think that the conflict will not worsen dramatically in the future. We would have to assume that both sides would continue to escalate the conflict to a point from which it would be completely impossible to pull back. World War III would be virtually assured.
